So, on a 472, are chp-VT61 rockers good ?

Very interesting about the Sealed Power® A-Series® aluminum-silicon bi-metal alloy engine bearings. I have always run the Old tri-metal bearings. I will give the Sealed Power® A-Series® aluminum-silicon bi-metal alloy engine bearings a try on my new 472 build. On the bearing topic, what is the best cam bearing set to run for my new Bad-Ass Roller Cam?

Thanks,
Roy

Awesome ! This sure is a great site with great people and lots of handy information !!

Thanks for the information,
Roy

So, do we just need to run back-grooved cam Bearings, or can we go 55 or 60 mm roller bearings like the LSX goobers do?

Thanks for you thoughts,
Roy

There was a guy on here who used his engine for tractor pulling and ended up shattering the main webs from running a bigger core cam tunnel (52mm) so cation is advised

ETA: it seems most folks run the back grooved bearings and as long as they’re installed correctly they seem to do quite well. There is talk in the thread I posted of a babbited cam bearing tunnel using an AMC bearing, but I know nothing of that.

Gonna order up the back grooves Cam Bearings, and see if LeeRoy can pound them in the new 472 Caddy.
Thanks,

Make sure the feed holes are clocked in the correct position...there is an excellent post on this with awesome pictures, but for the life of me I can’t seem to find it....

Roger that and a big 10-4. Correct position is the key.

Thanks,
Roy

Are we still talking about Big Block Caddy stuff?

Howdy,

I’ll send some cool engine pictures when the VT-61 full roller shaft rockers arrive.

This is good info.

Sealed Power bearings are good, and you never regret paying for quality.

What are the best H-beam rods to run on a big block Caddy? Anyone have a favorite?
